If there was ever a reason to smoke pot again, I think I found it. Can’t wait for this movie… kinda.

The Pixies kick off their Doolittle tour tonight in Los Angeles. The band will play intimate venues across the US performing the album Doolittle in it’s entirety to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the album’s release. LA was lucky enough to get 3 days and if you weren’t lucky enough to score a ticket keep checking ticketmaster as they’ve been releasing spare tickets for each night every day. Each night has a different opening band, tonight No Age will open the show. I will be attending tomorrow’s show and am very excited to hear Hey, my favorite Pixies song, live. Below is a download of Diplo’s remix. If you can’t squeeze them into your week The Pixies just announced two benefit shows at the ultra-small Echo and Echoplex in LA next month.
These shows will be split up, December 8th will be rock performances and December 9th Frank Black will host a night of comedy. Surprising Weird Al is billed for the night of rock, in which he will be performing Pixies songs with members of the Pixies to back him up as well as Flea. Artists on the bill also include Love & Rockets, She Wants Revenge, Michael Penn, and the 88. The second night includes Tim and Eric (awesomeshow!!!) as well as others I’ve never heard of. More info can be found here. Tickets are relatively cheap for how great the lineup for this intimate show is. Buy tickets for both nights for only $35 here. I just snagged two tickets and the total came to under $85 so the service fees are too bad, with ticketweb they rarely are. Enjoy!
